Addicting Chocolate Sauce
WARNING: this sauce will cause addiction. Be prepared to witness and be involved in obsessive dunking, dipping, licking and drizzling. You’ve been warned.
I am going to give my mom credit for this awesome treat…I’m not sure that I copied her sauce exactly but she definitely gave me the idea while I was visiting last week. I literally had my face in the saucepan, licking every last drop. It’s dangerous!! My favorite is dunking strawberries, but any dunker in the world will do, or simply eating spoonfuls is acceptable.
Chocolate Sauce Recipe
**Makes about half a cup of sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 tbsp butter
- 3 packets of Truvia
Directions:
- Add the cocoa powder and whipping cream to a small saucepan over medium heat
- Whisk them together very quickly (they do not like being friends and will be stubborn about mixing – just keep whisking & it’ll happen)
- Once those are mixed together thoroughly, add the butter and Truvia and keep whisking until it thickens (it won’t be super thick – it drips off a spoon)
- Indulge your inner chocoholic and proceed to dunk, dip, lick and drizzle

thanks for the credit – it is yummy, isn’t it? Just for the record, you can use heavy cream in place of whipping cream and any milk (I’ve even used almond) will work. It makes yummy nut clusters by adding walnuts, peanuts, almonds…any nut you like…to the chocolate and then spooning them out on wax paper to “dry.” Oh, I’ve also sliced firm bananas, dipped one side into the chocolate and then put them flat on a tray in the freezer. When I need a quick treat, I pop one in my mouth.
